Talking to Our Children About Porn and Lust

As parents, one of the most important responsibilities and privileges Kristen and I have is related to how we will talk with our boys about sex, pornography, and lust. Their schools, social media, and even their friends will educate our kids in very different ways than we'll choose to educate them. For this reason, we want to be the loudest voice in how they think about these topics. Outside of the Lord Himself and His Word, we want to be our kid's most significant influence.

I discovered porn at a very young age and wrote previously about how porn almost ruined my life. We don't want our kids to have the same story as me. From a young age we started a series of conversations with our kids about pornography, lust, and sex.

My friends Ryan & Selena Frederick, founders of Fierce Marriage, recently started another ministry called Fierce Parenting. Fierce parenting is "a place for parents to be encouraged, equipped, and shaped by the Gospel." I just wrote this article for their site.
